Our first Geisha coffee is here and we’re excited to share it! Known for its tea-like body and complex notes of a variety of fruits and florals, the Geisha varietal has become world renowned and highly sought after over the last twenty years.
This dry-processed Geisha from the La Bastilla farm in Nicaragua is complex and fruit forward, brewing a delightful cup. Aromas of strawberry, rose and cherry pop when its ground and notes of blackberry and fruit punch can be found in every sip. To let the flavors of the Geisha varietal stand out we keep the roast light and quick.
With rich volcanic soils and altitudes of 4,300 to 5,000 feet, Finca La Bastilla has a range of micro-climates suited to growing exceptional coffee. Various cultivation techniques are used throughout the finca, which is divided into several small farms and micro-lots. La Bastilla has been certified by the Rainforest Alliance (RFA) since 2003, and is a showcase in sustainable agriculture and design, including natural wastewater treatment, bio-gas harvesting for cooking, a job-training program and eco-lodge.
