Single Origin – Ethiopia Mangesha Farms, Yirgacheffe 12Oz. (340g)

Light-Medium Roast. Notes of Blackberry and Honeysuckle with a Sweet Lemony Brightness.

Heirloom Varietals, Dry Processed.

This one's a stunner! With layers upon layers of flavors and aromas, this coffee from Yigacheffe, Ethiopia reveals its complexity slowly as its ground, brewed, sipped, and then sipped again as it cools down. Each stop along the way brings out new notes. We chose to go with a quick light-medium roast to allow the sweet lemony brightness to be augmented by a rich flavor of ripe blackberry without subduing its wonderful floral aroma reminiscent of honeysuckle and jasmine. There’s an almost bubble-gum sweetness to this coffee that balances out the brightness and makes this coffee downright fun.

Yirgacheffe, right in the heart of the birthplace of Arabica coffee, is unsurprisingly a great place to grow coffee. Tariku Mengesha is a top local farmer and coffee processor for many other producers in Yirgacheffe. This batch, however, came exclusively from his own farms, allowing him to maintain strict quality. He processed it using the traditional method of letting the seed dry inside the whole coffee cherry, which enhances the fruity notes that Ethiopia’s heirloom cultivars are known for.
